If your happily riding around upwind and want to gain some new skills this is the perfect trip for you. I’m easy going & have a keen eye for coaching. I’ll be on hand helping tackle any aspect of the sport that your interested in learning.

The Wind Energy Institute in Canada is currently testing some new turbine blade technology that they have ‘borrowed’ from our ocean going mammalian friends – the Humpback Whale!

They are using the nodules (named ‘Tubercules’) along the edge of turbine blades. These nodules help the whales to generate extra force in tight banking turns. The aim is to enable the turbines to generate more power at slower turning speeds and less noise, when compared to more traditional blades. For more information check out this months ‘Red Bulletin’ or visit WhalePower.

What a forecast!!!! Dont worry though its not exactly full force but as is the way with these storms in the states they always finish off here in England! The tail end has made its way over the atlantic. The South Coast is in for big storm winds for 1 week at least. This is the time for checking your lines, wear points on the bar, harnesses, board bolts everything. Tuesday afternoon not the best time to break a line mid air! If your local expect the whole week from Monday to be 30 knots and over, windguru does have the tendency to under read.
