Today I’ve been at Herne Bay Junior School in Kent. The year 3′s had been looking at the Weather all term so the school asked me if I could come in and talk about why the Weather is so important to me. We looked at the differences between the Westerly winds and the Northerly winds and also how it feels to go kitesurfing, staying healthy and the importance of harnessing Wind Energy. The day ended with a small demo from me, luck would have it I received all my new Fuel’s last week and wow did I get some banging colour schemes! Kids like colourful things so they the kites went down great. It’s always nice to head over to Kent and see the guys at Boardworx and especially my friend Lance from Kitedoc.
Yes its that time of year again where we can actually say we get waves in Worthing. Where there is wind and waves there is also rain but this has its positives…the pansy summer brigade are now off the water leaving the beaches uncrowded but bleak at times. A new wetsuit goes a long way this time of year, it may well be the difference of bothering in the first place. Grey throughout the day and dark at 4p.m this is what the UK kitesurfing scene is really about….
